The Brotherhood of the Dark Moon is a Queer Men's Spiritual Circle based in the greater Detroit Metro, born from a previous group of the same name in the greater Akron, OH area. Membership is open to any pagan who identifies as a man-who-loves-men, be they Gay or Bisexual, Cis or Transgender.
We come together at the time of the dark moon to celebrate the queer spirit, and the unique magic that queer men share. Our rituals are rooted in whatever traditions and practices our members bring with them. These have typically been in Wiccan or ADF formats, but also occasionally faerie, ceremonial, voodoo, and others.
The one unifying thread that runs through all of our rituals is our honoring of the queer spirit through what we call the six aspects, based on the work found in the book Gay Spirit Warrior by John Stowe. These are the Warrior, the Divine Child, the Explorer, the Androgyne, the Elder, and the Shaman.
